File transfer

Now a days Instant messaging software act as a file transfer client also. Long back Yahoo introduced large amount of file transfer to any computer. MSN does not support this feature very well. Skype has a limitation. But Google Talk offers unlimited file transfer of any size. You can transfer 1GB file to any friend, like if you want to share a movie, just drag and drop the file into your friend’s name or the IM window.

But this will not support resume feature, for example if the connection is broken when transferring the file, you may have to start this all over again. But I have not tried� this with Google talk.

Gtalk can be turned on in your email, so you do not need to download any software. You can chat with any friend, the same way how you do it with the downloaded software.

Google Gadget

You can add this to your Google’s home page called iGoogle. You can copy and paste this into your own website and start chatting.

You can also use software like Digsby to connect with Gtalk. Finally, I use this everyday and it does not consume resources like any other software, try it for yourself.
