Firefox add on search sucks the most

There are 1000s of add-on’s written to work with the popular web browser Firefox. But when I want to search for a specific add-on it is hard to find.

You can easily find the popular ones but what I search for is not popular. I don’t understand under what term Firefox searches. When I search the add-on’s for Thunderbird it shows Firefox add-on’s.

I am so sick of this non sense search. Unfortunately, I am a great fan of Firefox.

If you are a developer make sure to change this simple bug, that will make the users satisfied and use more useful add-on’s. In fact I feel much better to search Google for Firefox add on’s rather than searching it on Firefox website.

Firefox is a great browser that most of us want to have it as a default browser. But most of the windows package comes with IE as a default browser.

To change the settings, open Firefox
Click Tools and Options

Click Advanced tab

At the bottom of the page you will see �System Defaults� and Click �Check Now�
You will be prompted for changing the �Default browser�

Click Yes and make Firefox a default browser

Firefox Tips – How to view the stored password?

Firefox is a great browser which has better popularity that IE or any other browser. Firefox offers many feature and one of the great features is saving your password.

You do not need to remember every password that you enter in every site. You just need to make Firefox remember it.

Now lets say you want to know a specific password that you have asked Firefox to remember.

Open Firefox
Go to Tools menu and click Options

Click Security Tab
At the middle section you will see the Password options

You will also see the button �Saved password�, Click on it

This will open one more window and click �Show password� at the bottom
Now you will see the site name, user name and the password
This is not a great method if you have a shared computer. So do not save your password in public computer. People can actually will find the password of your email address and other important things.
If it is your personal computer this is a great tool.
You need to make sure you are not deleting the passwords when cleaning the browsing history

Google Tips and Tricks – Delete/Erase search history

When you use Google Search, your search keyword will be automatically saved in to your browser. So when you do a search and if you want to clear the search history you need to adjust your browser settings.

If you are using the Google toolbar to search, then you need to clean that when you want it.

How to clean/delete/erase the searching history from your browser?

Firefox

Open Firefox and click Tools menu

Click Options and you will see the options window

At the bottom of the window under Private Data Choose your preference for deleting the browsing history.
If you choose �Always�� the search history will be deleted whenever you close Firefox
If you choose �Ask�� you need to manually delete the Private data
You need to do the Settings first, so click setting to get the below window

Choose which item to be deleted in the list
To clear search item click �Saved Form and Search History�, then click OK
Now if you want to clear the search history Go to Tools menu and you will see �Clear Private Data� option

You will get the �Clear Private Data� window and choose which one to delete

Internet Explorer (7)

Go to Tools and you will see the below menu
Click �Delete Browsing History�

This will display the below window to choose the option

Choose �Delete Forms� and all the search history will be deleted

Google Toolbar

Click the arrow icon next to the search bar as shown below

You will see the �Clear Search History� Click on the link
All the Toolbar search history will be deleted

You can see if the page is required and you need to visit or not. If you are not interested, you just need to move your cursor outside the preview window or just click outside the window.

If you want to visit the page that you see in the preview window, just click the up arrow which is located on the top of the preview window. This will open a new tab.

This is also an alternative for tabs in browsers. I guess this was launched recently after most powerful addons by Firefox but this seems to be downloaded by so many people around the world.
