Gmail offers search feature similar to Google search. it is very easy to use.

If you are looking for an attachment and if you know the name you can do the search by the following method.

Type filename:timesheet

This search will bring all the emails with the attachment timesheet

You can also do this search for file types, If you know that you have a PDF and you do not know the name, you can type Filename:PDF

This search will bring all the emails with the PDF attachment

There should not be any space in between File and Name

You can also do this search by going to the search options screen

You will see the screen as shown below where you can do the detailed search without entering the advanced operators

Gmail offers the search feature similar to Google search.

You can find all the emails with the attachment by following the steps below.

Type has:attachment in the search box, Gmail will bring all the emails with the attachment in your email.

You can also refine your search using from keyword as shown below

If you want to find all the emails from David and with the attachment type has:attachment from:David

Gmail will bring the emails from David and only the emails with the attachment

You can also do this search inside a label by typing Label:Family has:attachment

This will bring all the emails has the attachment and inside Gmail Label Family.

You can add more search operators and do your search.

If you are looking for more easy way click the search option next to the search button as shown below

You will get a screen with below seen options.

This method is very good where you do not need to enter the keywords

Remember Gmail does not offer searching inside an attachment yet. Yahoo offers this feature where you can search inside most of the attachments.
